So, you have earned your eMBA and you’re eager to go after international jobs with global organizations. How do you attract International Executive Recruiters? Here are a few ideas:
Reach out. Executive Recruiters are eager to work with candidates holding an eMBA. They recognize the depth and breadth of your experience, and they favour candidates like you. Identify international recruiting firms with offices in the countries in which you’d like to work, and contact them yourself. Unsure which companies to contact? An eMBA Career Coach can help you not only find the right recruiters, but help you target the right job.
Advertise. Make sure your social media, such as LinkedIn, has your most current skills, experience, and education. Refresh or rewrite your resume to add your degree and possibly your capstone project, there, too. Make sure your information on your resume and social media match, recruiters do check. If you highlight your new eMBA, you increase your chances of recruiters calling you.
Network. If the recruiter who helped place you in your current position does not work internationally, or their company does not, reach out to them and ask for a referral. It’s smart to reach out to someone who already knows and values you. If their company doesn’t operate internationally, you’re not asking to be handed over to the competition, and they know you’ll remember the assist when you return home. Do assure them that you’ll send other local candidates their way, and then follow through. Recruiters can help you grow your career; they are valuable contacts at every level.
