I have been clear and enthusiastic about shouting out that you have an eMBA and catching the eye of recruiters and hiring influencers by featuring your new degree in your communications and in your resume. There are other ways to put your new eMBA up front and make it hard to miss!
Here are three simple suggestions to put into place right after graduation:
- The email address you use for career correspondence should be simple, professional, and serious. “FlyGuy35@hotmail.com” is fine for family and social emails, but it won’t fly for business use. So, while you’re evaluating your email, why not add your new degree, too? “Martin.BucklandEMBA@yahoo.com” is simple, professional, and emphasizes your degree to all recipients of your emails.
- Email Signature. Add your new degree to your automatic signature line on your business email. Those four little letters have great impact, and this is a way to spread the news about your qualifications and accomplishments without having to say a word.
- Business cards. Add your degree on your business cards. You would be surprised how often it will start a conversation around your qualifications, and it makes it easy for recruiters and hiring influencers of all kinds to remember a very important fact about you!
Make sure your hard-earned degree is always up front and hard to miss, without having to insert the news into every conversation. Let your degree speak for you!
